Ta kill ya

Casa Nobles Special Reserve Añejo.

Triple distilled aged in French white oak barrels, this tequila is smooth and smokey. Just what you need in front if a nice warm fireplace.

Slight hints of chocolate, fudge and a little orange with a soft tingle on the tongue, it has a really smooth long finish! Really rich and luxurious.

The Special Reserve is not a mixto! San Francisco Double Gold medalist!

Gettysburg Address Cocktail

Four Score and Twenty Years: In honor of Abe Lincoln who delivered the Gettysburg Address today, November 19th, 1863.  The Gettysburg Address:

·         2 oz Maker’s mark (Southern)
·         1/2 oz maple syrup (Northern)
·         dash of bitters (for the Battle of Gettysburg)
·         rub sage leaf around the rim of the glass (for the man of profound wisdom)

On November 19, 1863, at the dedication of a military cemetery at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, during the American Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln delivers one of the most memorable speeches in American history. In just 272 words, Lincoln brilliantly and movingly reminded a war-weary public why the Union had to fight, and win, the Civil War.

The Battle of Gettysburg, fought some four months earlier, was the single bloodiest battle of the Civil War. Over the course of three days, more than 45,000 men were killed, injured, captured or went missing.  The battle also proved to be the turning point of the war: General Robert E. Lee's defeat and retreat from Gettysburg marked the last Confederate invasion of Northern territory and the beginning of the Southern army's ultimate decline.

10.08.10

Whisky or whiskey is a type of distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. Different grains are used for different varieties, including barley, malted barley, rye, malted rye, wheat, and maize (corn). Whisky is aged in wooden casks, made generally of white oak, except that in the United States corn whiskey need not be aged.

Whisky is a strictly regulated spirit worldwide with many competing denominations of origin and many classes and types. The unifying characteristics of the different classes and types are the fermentation of grains, distillation to less than 95% alcohol, and aging in wood.
